This election, British Columbians affected by multiple sclerosis (MS) are asking party leaders to commit to closing BC’s MS treatment access gap.

BC is currently the only province in Canada that does not publicly reimburse ofatumumab (Kesimpta) and ocrelizumab (Ocrevus) for relapsing MS. This means British Columbians living with MS do not have the same publicly funded treatment options available to people in every other province.

For people living with MS, time and treatment choice matter. Disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) can reduce relapses, slow disability progression, and help people remain active at work, at home, and in their communities. But no single treatment works for everyone, which is why access to the full range of Health Canada-approved options is essential.

This election, help us ask BC’s party leaders to commit to equitable access to MS treatments through PharmaCare.

Send a message to BC’s party leaders today.

Your voice can help make equitable access to MS treatments an election priority. Add your name to the letter below and ask leaders to commit to closing BC’s MS treatment access gap.

Dear Party Leader,

I am writing during this election to ask you to commit to closing British Columbia’s multiple sclerosis treatment access gap.

BC is currently the only province in Canada that does not publicly reimburse ofatumumab (Kesimpta) and ocrelizumab (Ocrevus) for relapsing MS. As a result, British Columbians living with MS do not have the same access to publicly funded treatment options as people in every other province.

For people with MS, timely access to the right treatment can change the course of the disease. Disease-modifying therapies can reduce relapses, slow disability progression, and help people stay active in their workplaces, families, and communities. But no two people experience MS the same way, and no single treatment works for everyone.

That is why British Columbians with MS need access to the full range of Health Canada-approved treatment options through PharmaCare.

BC already recognizes the value of these medicines by covering both treatments for public service employees through the employee drug plan. I am asking you to support extending that same access to all eligible British Columbians living with relapsing MS.

I am asking you to commit that, if elected, your government will publicly reimburse ofatumumab (Kesimpta) and ocrelizumab (Ocrevus) for eligible British Columbians with relapsing MS through PharmaCare.

Please #TakeActionForMS and commit to closing BC’s MS treatment access gap.

Sincerely,
