MS AND THE COVID-19 GAP: COSTLY DISEASE... COSTLY DELAYS

Canadians across the country are concerned about our health care system. To better understand the effects of the pandemic on the well-being of our community, and inform potential solutions, MS Canada commissioned a report on the impact and economic cost of COVID-19 on multiple sclerosis (MS) in Canada.

Findings showed costs associated with MS are $3.4 billion annually – and rising.

COVID-19 restrictions and concerns led to delayed MS diagnoses and disrupted treatments, which caused irreversible impacts on people living with MS. The damage is now being felt in our health care system, and without action, the situation will only get worse.
